About Us
Our History
Established in 1975 by Peggie and Lynda Toohey Dance Majic was Originally called Dorset Dance Centre with classes in Poole and Bournemouth.
Our aim is to Provide Dance tuition to all ages and Abilities in a fun and friendly Environment.
Over the last 43 years the School has been extremely successful, with dancers achieving awards and medals over the years and only recently having 3 Dancers given a very prestigious IDTA Scholarship chosen from over 5000 students nationally.
We have provided lessons for 1000s of students locally over the years and have a range of classes from 2 years old to 92 years with classes such as Children’s Melody Bear to Adult Ballroom and Latin Classes,.
School Principal Lynda Toohey
I am a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing
Licentiate of the International Dance Teachers Association and a Member of the ADFP and have been teaching Dance Classes in the Poole & Bournemouth area for over 40 years.
I have trained many dancers to achieve an extremely high standard in amateur exams and have a 100% Distinction rate for all professional examinations.
Starting dance at the age of 3 years old I trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern and then progressed to Ballroom, Latin, Classical Sequence and gained further Professional qualifications in Dance Exercise, Line Dance, Freestyle and Rock 'n' Roll and Beauty Therapy. My dance knowledge has enabled me to train pupils from absolute beginner to whatever level they would like to achieve either just for fun, medal work to the top of the medal test system, for shows or competitions!
Senior Dance Teacher Pauline Vines
I had achieved Distinction across all of my qualifications and I am a Licentiate Teacher fro the International Dance Teachers Association, Associate for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Also I am an active adjudicator for the ADFP.
I lived near the school so have been dancing at the dance school since the age of 2 and have passed many amateur exams in Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin and Rock and Roll. My biggest achievements within my amateur career have been dancing at Championship level winning many competitions and becoming National Champion in 2008. Since retiring from competitive world of dance my passion has been teaching children and adults of all ages.
I have continued my dance education in Lynda’s footsteps Teaching dance classes to both adult and Children's dance in Poole and Bournemouth. I am progressing to qualify to the highest level of Fellow across all styles of dance we teach at the dance Studio in Bournemouth & Poole.
